Jewellery, to me, is a private thing and a channel of emotional expression. I keep examining, reflecting, and expressing the world we live in from the perspective of the creator, as well as deploying through jewellery as a medium to convey my position and emotion. Therefore, i start with the concept that insole is a piece of potential jewellery on the body, combined with the relationship between acupoint areas on the soles in traditional chinese medicine and the human body, to perceive the relationship between jewellery and the wearer's body and emotion from another angle. The work carries out derivative creation based on the old objects with emotion and historical feeling, thus exploring the possibility of combining traditional folk culture with contemporary narrative jewellery. Traditional handicrafts are now a rarity in urban life. This is not only a choice under the change of practicality, productivity, and aesthetic orientation in the urban era, but also the collapse of abstract meaning symbolized by these old objects, which is also related to the social connotation it bears. Thus, I would like to discuss a new idea and arouse people's emotions from the concept of jewellery. The main material of the creation comes from the embroidered insoles that Grandma has sewn for me as gifts for consecutive 20 years. I attempted to use traditional Chinese handicrafts as the medium and the unique "foot acupuncture points" as the carrier to produce jewellery works that convey emotions. My creation began with the observation of traditional handicrafts in order to seek their correlation with various elements of jewellery, and tried to combine the potentially relevant factors between the two: decoration, functionality, and interaction with users and wearers. It occurs in the most intimate part of the body and has been a thing with which I am too familiar to sense its existence since my childhood. Moreover, the company and love that Grandma has given me for 20 years have been firmly sealed here by thousands of times of knitting. This kind of emotion is carried by an inconspicuous object and also guides me to explore its similarities with jewellery.
